Pulling up a chair at the station bar Hamno spoke, "So there we were, formed up and moving from system to system trying to find this hostile gang..."
Riass smiled, "Is this is part where you tell me how you woke up in the pod bay again?"
Not deterred, he replied "Dont worry, i'm getting to it. The enemy gang was a fleet of about 30 tech 1 cruisers doing a roam through our space. We had them tracked down to one particular system so we were camping the other side of the gate waiting for them to come through. Normally with a RR BS fleet we would be right on the gate, but instead our fleet was made up of sniper HACs at range with a mix of tackle."
Hamno took a sip of a beer, "So the bulk of our fleet was about 60km off the gate when the enemy fleet jumped in. A Dictor dropped a bubble right on top of the enemy cruisers and the firing commenced. Enemy cruiser down, enemy cruiser down, enemy cruiser down...and there I was in my Taranis sitting with the HACs! Not putting up with this I activated my MWD, charged at the enemy and opened fire at the target being called primary."
Looking unimpressed, Riass asked "Is this going where I think its going?"
Hamno grinned, "Yep, since the enemy fleet couldnt reach our HAC gang I was the only thing within range. So they completly tore me apart in about 2 seconds. To top it off I died inside our own bubble so I couldnt get my pod out."
"Hamno, what did you learn?"
"Dont give in to impatience, if you stick with the HAC gang you may not get on any killmails but you stand a much better chance of surviving and helping deal with enemy tacklers. In addition, when dealing with an enemy Tech 1 gang they all know they are going to die anyway so they are out to get on as many killmails as possible, so your light interceptor is going to be targetted before anything with a real tank."
